AVON CT's NEW ENGINES |
Photos of Avon's new Engine #14, delivered December 2001.. This pumper is built on a HME 1871 custom 4-door chassis. It includes a top-mount pump, with a 1500 GPM Hale "QMAX" single stage pump, a 1,000 gallon UPF Poly-Tank IIE booster tank with integral class "A" & "B" foam cells. The body is 12-gauge stainless steel with Dover roll-up doors. The apparatus also includes a Ziamaticl electric ground ladder rack with an Intec video system and a "Back-Stop" back-up safety braking system. The unit also include a Foam-Pro model #2002 automatic foam proportioning system, and a Harrison 15.0 kW generator with assorted 120VAC lighting, cord reels and outlets, and a cab roof mounted 3,000 watt Wil-Burt remote controlled "Command Light" Jack, this is unit #2 of two (2) ordered, with the first shown below. |
Following are the details on Avon Engine #10: Chassis: HME 1871,
4-door, 6-man cab.
Engine: Cummins M11, 450 HP, with a Jacobs "Jake" engine brake Transmission: Allison HD4060(P) Chassis also includes, climate control, On-Spot tire chains, Pump: Hale QMAX 1500 gpm single stage, with a Class-1 "Captain" pressure governor. Pump feature numerous discharges with an Akron "Deck Master" electrically controlled monitor. Pump also features a Foam-Pro model #2002 Class "A" & "B" foam system. Booster Tank: A UPF Poly-Tank IIE, 750 gallon tank with two (2) foam tanks, one (1) for Class "A", one (1) for Class "B". Body: Custom fabricated 12 gauge stainless steel with Robinson-Roll Up compartment doors. Body features numerous adjustable shelves and slide-out trays. Warning Lights: Whelen Engineering Strobe/LED. Apparatus includes a rear mounted Whelen model #TA837A "Traffic Advisor". Generator: Harrison 15 kW hydraulic generator with two (2) Hannay electric rewind cord reels and four (4) Kwik-Raze Alpha 2000, 750 Watt quartz lightheads. Apparatus also include an Intec Video monitoring system and a "Back-Stop" rear braking device. |
